...Mende Youth Smile Home With Valuable Prizes.

Okla Youth Initiative For Empowerment and Development (OYIED) on New year's Eve took another bold step in positive youth development program with the organization of its maiden Table Tennis Competition to rap up the  eventful year on an exciting note
The maiden edition of the Table Tennis competition was  specifically organized for Mende Youth by the youth development organisation powered by the Lawmaker representing Kosofe Constituency 1 Hon. Sanni Okanlawon
The competition which  was tagged: "Discovering Talents, Uniting The Youths took place at Mende Town Hall in Mende, Maryland, Lagos State and recorded a huge turnout from the youth as Winners went home with different prizes as follow:
🥇1st place : Water Dispenser
🥈2nd place: Generator Set
🥉3rd place: Portable Sound System
Speaking to the Press at the venue of the event, the Representative of Kosofe Constituency (l) in Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Sanni Ganiu Okanlawon thanked God for the maiden edition of the Table Tennis Completion,  describing it as the best tool and initiative to empower the Youths.
"As you can see, we have really enjoyed ourselves in this conducive environment for this competition. So the idea behind this is to produce  next level of Table Tennis players that will be making waves in Lagos, Nigeria and all over the World.

"So many peopl
e have the potential which need to be awakened among our youths in terms of talent and development. For the elderly ones that came through, we also have the opportunity to exercise our bodies.
"So by the special grace of God in the course of the year, we will have a Centre where we will have opportunity to play Table Tennis to produce stars among our talented youths all over Kosofe LG. 
Hon. Okanlawon who placed third in the competition but gave the prize to the fourth placed person, however      disclosed that private sectors and well-meaning individuals would be involved in next edition of the competition.

"To do this, I will cover 60% and partner with private sectors and individuals alike. This is just the maiden edition which has started from WARD-D (Mende - Maryland), by this Year February 2021, there is going to be an All-Kosofe Constituency (l) Table Tennis Competition across all the Wards. So the youths have to be ready for this greatness, thank you and congratulations to all Winners."

The winner of the competition, Saheed Sanni expressed joy for emerging winner of maiden event, saying it was a great career opportunity for him.

He therefore thanked the Organizer of the competition Hon. Okanlawon for the great initiative.
"We thank God for our leader Hon. Okla for this great initiative and edition, I'm fully prepared for the next year edition. I want to also appreciate all our leaders in Kosofe Local Government. With my years of experience in the Table Tennis sector, I really thank God for this opportunity. God bless our leader"
