Sofola Procures Television Sets And Fans To Council Departments
Aware of the importance of enhancing staff productivity through regular provision of basic facilities, the Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government Hon. Afolabi Sofola has procured 20 sets of 32 inches flat screen television and 10 standing Ox fans for all the departments in the council.
The procured sets of Television and standing fans were distributed to all the departments yesterday by the Council’s Head of Administration, MBS Arole and Kosofe NULGE Chairman, Comrade Ade Orababa.
Speaking to Kosofe LG Media after the distribution, the council’s Internal Auditor Mr. Adelu Monzoor Abiodun thanked Hon. Sofola for the good gestures and disclosed that the council Chairman has always lived up to his responsibility when it comes to the issue of staff welfare and provision of basic facilities to enhance their productivity.
He noted that the Chairman’s good gestures would go a long way in enhancing the efficiency and productivity of the Local Government staff while at the same time promising to keep proper record and maintenance of the procured assets.
He said: “Government is a continuum. The previous administrations before Hon. Afolabi Sofola did their best. And there is continuous need for provision of developmental materials when it comes to staff welfare. That’s why we look at what is outdated. Actually we have all these amenities that have been replaced. And our chairman is always and readily available to meet the need of the current situation. That is why he has been able to provide all these facilities.
“By the grace of God as an Internal Auditor, I am the internal policeman that ensures that everything is supposed to be the way it should be. Our staff are up and doing coupled with our esteemed NULGE doing their job we are on top of it to make sure that the ones that have been removed are given to other offices because we have all these amenities but they are old. The new ones are to be fixed while the new ones are to be given to other offices. So we are up and doing. The council is on top ensuring that all our assets are protected and identified. By the grace of God these new ones will be added to our assets numbering - updating our assets register.

“It will ensure that our staff are up and doing. It will ginger them to be more proficient in efficiency and effectiveness in discharging their duties. Because by providing these amenities they are making sure everything is possible and easy for the staff. This is the second stage in the distribution, the first stage has been adequately taken care of. and the remainder has now been taken care of too.
“We really thank our Hon. Chairman and his executives for this kind gestures and we hope that other things we require, like Oliver Twist, will be done in due course.”

While Comrade Ade Orababa, the Local Government NULGE Chairman described the council chairman as a promise keeper. He made it Known that apart from the recent procurement of fans and television sets, Hon. Sofola has done a lot to the staff of the council in the area of welfare provision.
He therefore stated that the council’s staff  reciprocate the good gestures by working diligently to meet the IGR target set for this year in order to contribute to the growth and development of the local government.

His Words: “I don’t need to say much than to appreciate the council Chairman Hon. Afolabi Sofola, He is a man of his words. He promised and fulfilled his promise. And I will continue to appreciate him. Not only because of the fans and television he procured for the staff. But talking about staff welfare, he has taken it to highest level and I don’t think any other chairman can do what he is doing.
“If not for Covid-19 disruption we had planned to generate 120 million as Internally Generated Revenue for the local government. But due to what is happening all over the country we couldn’t meet our target. But this year we are determined to meet or even surpass our IGR target so that we add to the growth and development of the local government.”
