Sofola Reaffirms Commitment To Provision Of Accessible Roads, Commissions Another Road Project At Anthony Village
The Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government, Hon Afolabi Sofola has reaffirmed his commitment towards leaving a lasting legacy in terms of provision of quality and accessible road network in his Local Government Area has he commissioned another road projects at Anthony village on Friday.
Hon. Sofola commissioned reconstructed Bola street at Anthony Village making it the fifth road commissioned within a week in the local government.
Hon. Sofola was represented at the commissioning by his Senior Special Assistance on Religious Matter Hon. Ganiu Oyebanjo.
In an interview with newsmen, Hon. Oyebanjo reiterated the commitment of the council chairman towards making life liveable for the people of Kosofe Local Government Area.
He made it Known that the council Chairman decided to reconstruct the road in order to bring relief to motorists and residents of the area who had been facing severe hardship due to the poor state of the road before its reconstruction.
He said apart from massive infrastructural developmental projects been witnessed across the local government, the council chairman has also been providing relief packages to the residents of the Local Government.
“The chairman should be highly appreciated because apart from construction of projects across the Local Government, he has been giving relief packages to several people who are in dire need of assistance in terms payments of school fees, Hospital bills, House rents among others. The chairman needs to be appreciated and applauded”: Hon. Oyebanjo said.
The Baale of Anthony Village, Chief Ayoola Oseni, commissioned the road on behalf of the council chairman.
Chief Oseni, while officially declaring the road open for public use, thanked Hon. Sofola for the reconstruction of the road which he noted is a vital link road to other adjoining areas such as Odunlami street, Bush street, Olorunlogbon street and Oshodi/Apapa express way.
He added that he was particularly surprised that the council chairman could give them a road of high quality as they were instead expecting a mere palliative work to be done on the road which he said was in total bad state before its renovation.
He therefore advised the residents of Anthony Village to make good use of the road and desist from creating a road bottleneck by parking vehicles on both sides of the road.
Similarly, Dr. Ademola Oladosun, the Owner of King Solomon Hospital at Anthony Village, who have been residing in the area for 40 years expressed delight at the reconstruction of the road which he described as a major road being used by motorists going to and fro Anthony Village.
He stated that apart from the renovation of the road the chairman has also rendered immense assistance to many residents of the area, giving them relief packages and paying off their medical bills.
While the CDA Chairman of the Community Mr. Olalekan Ogunjirin expressed satisfaction with the quality of the reconstructed road, saying that it would improve free-flow of vehicular movements in Anthony Village.
He however appealed to the Council Chairman to assist the community in another area by helping to desilt their filled up drainages.
