Jemimah Marcus, a 17-year old student of Angus Memorial Secondary School in Somolu presided over the State Executive Council meeting as the one-day Governor of Lagos State today.

Jemimah, an indigene of Edo State won the 2020 edition of the state Spelling Bee Competition. The Spelling Bee Competition started about two decades ago to groom our students and prepare them for greater success in their educational pursuit.

I am delighted to say that the competition has been achieving its desired vision and objectives. The organisers will follow up on Jemimah’s endeavour to ensure she acquires the right leadership skills and becomes a responsible citizen of Nigeria.

I accepted the request of our one-day Governor that government should make more investment in education and human capital development. As a government we are already doing that and we will continue to do more.
