Conference 57 CPS Braces Up For 5th Media Retreat, Meets At Igbogbo-Baiyeku

The association of Chief Press Secretaries (CPS), across the 57 Local Governments (LG) and Local Council Development Areas (LCDA) in Lagos State, have begun preparation for this year's annual media retreat.
This was disclosed during the association's meeting that was held at Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA recently.
The chairman of the group, CPS Ayodele Ayeyemi, during the meeting, announced the names of retreat planning committee.
Describing this year's media retreat, CPS Ayodele disclosed to members in attendance that Bariga and Shomolu were selected in order to honour chairman of 'Conference 57' who doubles as executive chairman of Bariga LCDA, Hon. Alabi Kolade David (AKD).
"This year's retreat is symbolic in so many ways because it's our 5th annual media retreat, and Bariga was where we held our maiden CPS meeting," he added.
Builder Sesan Daini, executive chairman of Igbogbo-Baiyeku, who was represented by the vice-chairman, Hon. Nureini Okedinamaja, urged grassroots media aides to maintain courteous use of words while projecting their Principals' in the grassroots.
He said that CPS must at all times maintain decorum and emphasized on the positive images of council chairmen.
"You must mind the use of words while projecting your chairmen positively," he said.
Barrister SOK, who was the guest speaker during the meeting, elaborated on the technical aspect as it affects the roles of CPS.
According to him: "A CPS must serve as an adviser to the council chairman, especially on matters of public relations."
He added: "You don't just see challenges, you must proffer solutions to them before presenting it to your boss."
Highlight of the meeting was the group cutting of birthday cake to honour CPS Oseni Owolabi Ajimomuiya, the immediate past Chairman of the group from Somolu Local Government.
