Oworonshoki Kingship Brouhaha...
Saliu, the people's
 Choice @ Oworo......
"Thrice l offered him kingly crown, thrice he rejected it" ----Marcus Anthonio in Shakespeare's Julius Caesar.

This quotation by mark Anthony in Rome is a bit different from the scenario in Oworonshoki. The oworo people unanimously asked for and presented the kingly crown to Babatunde Saliu to reign over them and he hearken to their voices. As it was written in the Bible, the voice of the people is the voice of God.

While the entire people of Oworonshoki community were still in a festive mood over the installation of Oba Saliu and the joyful presentation of Staff office by the Governor, there come a spoilsport that materialized for a group with a nomenclature that is so disjointed - "Nigeria youth Corporate Social Responsibility Fund".

The faceless group called a Press Conference where they referred to the installation of Oba Babatunde by the Lagos State government as a sham, and imposition which did not go through the normal royal process, the end result of which might lead to monumental catastrophe if not reversed with immediate effect.

The youths' group threatened to unleash mayhem that would take Endsars colouration at Oworonshoki, a peaceful community.

It is obvious that this group is acting the script of someone - a sponsor in the background -  who was also a contestant for the Oworonshoki throne. Admittedly, in every contest there are contestants but there can never be two winners in a contest. Two people can't be a winner in a competition, one must be the winner and the other must be runner-up (s).

Babatunde Saliu contested and won the race. The entire community accepted him. His emergence and installation not only followed due royal process but were duly acknowledged by the people of Oworonshoki and the government of Lagos State.

If NYCSRF, as it is called, is not satisfied, there is a court of law; the temple of justice would do the needful if they have a genuine case, but resorting to threat and violence negates the principle of peaceful coexistence. The government would not watch while the peace of the community is disrupted.

In the interim, Babatunde Saliu is the current and bonafide Oba of Oworonshoki, anybody who is not satisfied can take up litigation. It is legal, but violence is illegal and could be counter-productive.
