AWORI TRADITIONAL RULERS, OLOFIN ADIMULA, OLU OF AGBOYI, OLOJUDU, ALAKETU PAY ROYAL VISIT TO OLOWORO OF OWORO

*Sue For Peace, Unity

The paramount traditional ruler of Awori Land Olofin Adimula Oba Sulaimon Adekunle Bamgbade and three other prominent monarchs of Awori descent have called for peace and unity among the Bashir Oloruntoyin Royal Family of Oworonshoki Kingdom.
The traditional rulers made the call on Friday when they paid a royal visit to the palace of Oloworo of Oworonshoki Kingdom Oba Babatunde Saliu (Elebo II).

Olofin Adimula Oba Bamgbade was accompanied to the palace of Oloworo of Oworonshoki Kingdom by Olu of Agboyi, Oba Monsur Abimbola Ladega; Olojodu of Ojodu, Oba Sobowale Benson and Alaketu of Ketu, Oba Isiaka Oyero.

While congratulating the newly crowned King of Oworonshoki Kingdom Oba Babatunde Saliu over his ascension to the throne of his ancestors, the traditional rulers collectively sued for peace and unity among Bashir Oloruntoyin Royal Family for the sake of progress and development of Oworonshoki Kingdom.
Oba Sobowale Benson of Ojodu Kingdom in his address described the ascension of Oba Saliu as divinely ordained and called on the aggrieved party to accept it in good faith.

In a similar vein, Oba Isiaka Oyero of Ketu congratulated the new Oba of Oworonshoki Kingdom noting that it was a rarity for a prince to succeed a father on the throne.
While Oba Monsur Ladega of Agboyi Kingdom stated that the unity and development of Oworonshoki should be of topmost priority in the mind of the Oloworo.

While warning of the futility of contesting the installation of a traditional ruler in the court of law, he appealed to the elders in the community to find an amicable solution to the lingering rift within the Royal Family rather than fanning the embers of discord.
He, however, advised the Oba of Oworonshoki to open his arms of friendship and embrace other aggrieved members of the royal family.

While tracing the origin of the first settlers in Oworonshoki to the ancient town of Agboyi, he explained that immediately after Oba Babatunde Saliu was announced as the new Oloworo of Oworonshoki Kingdom, he initiated a peace move by appealing to the Ajisegiri family who had been at loggerheads with Saliu Royal Family over the Kingship of Oworonshoki to sheath its sword and also warned them of the futility of taking the matter to court.

He said, afterwards, the Ajisegiri family visited Oba Babatunde Saliu at his palace to pledge its allegiance.
Olofin Adimula Oba Sulaimon Adekunle Bamgbade capping the royal visit up with a special prayer known in traditional parlance as "Iwure", prayed for unity, progress and prosperity of the people of Oworonshoki Kingdom.

Responding, Oba Babatunde Saliu thanked the royal fathers for the visit while tracing the ancestral home of his forefathers to Isheri Olofin.

He pointed out that since his emergence as Oba of Oworonshoki Kingdom, peace and tranquillity have returned to the community.

He also disclosed that peace and tranquillity had also returned to the royal family as those who were hitherto aggrieved have returned to the palace except one.

Oba Babatunde Saliu made it known emphatically that his hands of friendship are very quite open and assured that he would welcome back the last person into the royal fold anytime he showed up.
