CHECHE: THE PORTRAIT OF A POLITICIAN WITHOUT BITTERNESS.

CHECHE: THE PORTRAIT OF A POLITICIAN WITHOUT BITTERNESS.
The late Alhaji Ibrahim Waziri coined the phrase "Politics without bitterness". He was one of the founding fathers of pre and post independence politics in Nigeria. Waziri was an elected member of the first republic parliament and a minister of the new Federal Republic. In the 2nd republic, he created his own political party christened Great Nigeria peoples' Party  (GNPP) that won then Borno and Gongola states now Adamawa under 19 states structure.

Waziri would not partake in the politics of violence and win at all cost. He believed that politics like soccer should be played with all excitement and without bitterness.

To go down that memory lane and exhume the political virtues of this great politician finds solace in another politician of note, Engineer Abiodun Owokoya, popularly called Cheche by the committee of friends and admirers. Cheche exemplifies and espouses the inimitable qualities of Waziri, though not yet his political height, but in terms of moderation and perceiving politics as a service to humanity other than thaself-aggrandizement and self-serving. To Cheche, Politics as a game should be played with maximum exhilaration and fervor without thuggery, bitterness, and undue nihilism. To buttress this, Cheche threw his hat into the ring vying for Federal legislator at Kosofe under his beloved Platform, All Progressives Party (APC) because of his love and admiration for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, he had been following as a youth, the political pendulum did not favor him and like a good sportsman, he threw his support to the eventual winner, Alhaja Adetola Ogbara who he vowed to give maximum support just as he pledged to ensure her victory with other candidates in February polls.

Owokoya is an advocate of youth empowerment. His philosophy revolves around youths' emancipation and development. He sees youths as salt that seasons the Nation. Cheche has reassured the youths that he would remain their ambassador as far as he is still in politics. As the leader of tomorrow, he pledged to always advocate for their needs at the highest level where policies are being enacted. He told them to count on him for a better tomorrow.

Aside from politics, Cheche is a versatile technocrat and hard-nut professional with his hand in various highbrow professions such as Engineering, Accounting, and Human/Business Administration, and a member of various international bodies as a Certified Red Hat Engineer, certified VCP-DCV6 professional, certified Comp TIA A+ 220-1001 core1&2, certified AS Scrum Master among other numerous certificates he held.
Sure, Kosofe needs a core professional like him as their representative, but the future is sure for Cheche.
