.... Ogunlewe, Okanlawon eulogise his virtues as court and water fountain are named after him.
It was a tribute galore at the Secretariat of Kosofe Local Govt, Ojota as score of Party faithfuls led by the Executive Chairman, Hon. Barrister Moyosore Ogunlewe named the newly constructed Customary Court after the pioneer Chairman, Hon. Barrister Olatunde Taofeek Braimoh.
Speaking with the tinge of emotion, the Council Chairman said Hon. Tunde Braimoh was a lawyer and a lawmaker representing Kosofe constituency 2 before he passed on and above all, an erstwhile chairman of the Council some 24 years ago, when he was in secondary school.
Said he " I was just thinking about the building when we are constructing it, his name just popped up, no string is attached to his name being used to christen the new customary court"
Speaking further, Ogunlewe, said all honours are given to him, " He is like a big daddy to me as one of the numerous followers of my father", he added.
The honourable member representing Kosofe constituency 1 and the Chairman house committee on Education, honourable Ganiyu Sani Okanlawon (Okla) who commissioned the project paid a glowing tribute to the honoree. He said barrister Tunde Braimoh was a quintessential lawyer of high repute, a parliamentary par excellence and a quick witted debater.
"I learnt a lot from him as a parliamentarian and lawyer each time l visited him in his office". Okanlawon retorted
While cutting the tape to commission the new project, he said it was an honoured well deserved for Hon. Tunde Braimoh'
The daughter of Tunde Braimoh, Oyinkansola Braimoh in the company of her beautiful mother, Chief Mrs Taofeekat Yetunde Braimoh appreciated the honour on behalf of their family. She expressed how her late father nurtured her to be amazing woman she is and her excitement to had an amazing father.
"Tunde Braimoh's family is very honoured and very grateful, we thank the local government for acknowledging the works and services that my father had put while he was here on earth. We are very grateful and want to say a very big thank you to the Chairman and Honourable Okla.
"He was my all in all, every decision I have had to make in this life, he has made them with me. He has made me the woman I am today. He taught me be courageous, to be very brave and to always believe in God.
"He was a very religious man. He has literally built me from cradle to become an amazing woman and to excel wherever I found myself. I will forever be grateful for having what I called the best father in the world. I'm so grateful that he was my father". Oyinkansola said.
The Council manager of Kosofe local government Mrs Ogabi Adetokunbo in an interview after the commissioning with journalists said;
"The customary court would serve the purpose of justice in the local government. As we have prevalent of social menace, for instance matrimonial abuse. The customary court is positioned to stabilize these unhealthy practices around us.
"The President of the court is a barrister and the members too are knowledgeable about the social issues plaguing the society. The customary court would facilitate our revenue generation process.
"We are in a democratic setting, we can peacefully bring defaulters to court rather than adopting the military approach. This would generate more revenue in a democratic way.
"We thank God for this wisdom that the lord has given to our chairman for honouring the name of our former chairman. The family, wife and daughter are here to witness this historic event, we give God the glory. So also this beautiful fountain to replace the formal old round about, and many are yet to come, all to the glory of God". Ogabi said.
